About the role

The role is responsible for delivering infrastructure change as part of projects and ongoing operational tasks, while providing day-to-day support for One Stop’s infrastructure environment. This includes designing and implementing new technologies, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and patched in line with security standards, and supporting cyber security requirements. The role works closely with architecture, security, internal technology teams, and third-party suppliers to deliver infrastructure solutions with minimal business impact. It also provides escalation support for critical incidents, contributes to continuous improvement, and participates in the out-of-hours infrastructure support rota.

You will be responsible for

  • Deliver infrastructure change as part of projects, improvements and operational tasks
  • Provide day-to-day and escalated support for One Stop’s infrastructure estate
  • Support the introduction and implementation of new technologies across the business
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Solution Architect to estimate, design and deliver solutions aligned to wider infrastructure roadmaps
  • Ensure all work is fully and clearly documented using Confluence
  • Deliver technical change in a way that avoids disruption to stores and business operations
  • Support the Cyber Security Manager by delivering security requirements, solutions and changes
  • Ensure existing and new infrastructure is secure, up to date and aligned with cyber security best practices
  • Manage patching and updates across infrastructure assets in line with One Stop security standards
  • Proactively monitor and respond to critical vulnerabilities, including high‑risk CVEs and zero‑day threats
  • Support and administer networking and security technologies such as firewalls, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi and threat management gateways
  • Liaise with third‑party suppliers to support, maintain and enhance One Stop systems
  • Provide support to the technical support team during business‑critical incidents, including occasional work outside core hours
  • Handle escalated helpdesk calls related to your technical area
  • Collaborate with the wider Technology team to improve ways of working and deliver successful outcomes
  • Research and assess new technologies to determine their value and fit for One Stop
  • Participate in the Infrastructure out‑of‑hours rota


You will need

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar infrastructure or technical architecture role
  • Strong, hands‑on knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including:
    • Microsoft Windows OS, Azure/Entra, Active Directory and Office 365
    • Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper‑V and Nutanix
    • Backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g. Veeam, site‑to‑site replication, GFS, off‑site backups)
    • Cisco‑based networking (switches, firewalls and wireless access points)
    • Other Microsoft technologies such as ADFS and SQL
    • Non‑Microsoft technologies including Linux, virtual appliances, SD‑WAN, MPLS and ManageEngine products
  • Experience identifying new technologies and translating them into clear business value
  • The ability to understand business strategy and turn it into a practical infrastructure roadmap
  • A supportive mindset, with the ability to coach and guide other team members
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work with both technical and non‑technical colleagues
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills in a fast‑moving environment
  • A self‑motivated, proactive approach to problem solving
  • Relevant IT qualifications and/or vendor certifications (for example, Nutanix or Cisco certifications)
