About the role
Are you passionate about creating products customers love? As a Lead Product Development Manager, you’ll plan & deliver the product development strategy for your category, bringing great quality, value and innovation to life across our own label range.
You’ll lead a small team of talented Product Development Managers and Developers, working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to shape the future of our products. From spotting trends to driving strategic plans, you’ll make sure every product has a clear customer and business rationale.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in product development, strong leadership skills, and a passion for food and innovation. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love making a difference for customers, this could be the role for you!
You will be responsible for
- Leading a small team of Product Development Managers and Product Developers to ensure the delivery of the Product Development strategy across our own label range.
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the Product Development strategy within your area.
- Participating in Leadership team meetings and contributing to the broader Product Development plans.
- Leading change & contributing to the wider business projects, working with commercial, technical & marketing functions to deliver our plans.
- Leading the Product Development process for my area, with my NWT & suppliers, ensuring quality for customers and innovation are at the heart of what we do and all new products have clear customer & business rationale.
- Developing & driving a future strategic product & supplier plan for my area that compliments the business plan.
- Ensuring all our products and are formulated in line with our product rules, corporate initiatives & brand guidelines.
- Keeping updated with trends in product & packaging, competitor activity & market dynamics & sharing with my team.
- Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
- Following our Business Code of Conduct & always acting with integrity and due diligence.
You will need
- Proven track record in product & proposition development.
- Range management in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of working in the food industry or formal qualification.
- A passion for product & trends.
- Leadership & team development experience.
- Previous supplier & stakeholder management.
- Strategic & critical thinking experience.
- Influencing, clear communication & presentation skills,
- Data analysis & decision making.
