About the role
Tesco Mobile depends on its Product Owners to be the voice of our customers and colleagues.
As the Chapter Lead for Product you will play a key leadership role within the Product, Insight & Research Chapter Area. Product Owners drive and inspire the business to deliver incomparable value to customers through our propositions, journeys and customer experiences. Each of our Product Owners work in a squad across Tesco Mobile and has ownership for their journey, ensuring customers are delighted in every interaction they have with Tesco Mobile.
As Chapter Lead, you will be responsible for the 'how' of your chapter; building skill, capability and consistency that enables our Product Owners to deliver outstanding value for the business and our customers.
You will be responsible for
- The skill our colleagues bring will be key to our future success. Our Chapter Leads play the leading role in building brilliant capability by focusing on the 'how' of their chapter.
- Chapter Leads set the standard for subject matter expertise. You are first and foremost a Product expert who brings exceptional leadership skills to drive consistancy in tooling, processes, ways of working, and knowledge to grow the skill level of chapter members
- You will be a thought leader across the business for Product ownership and Product management, working cross-functionally to solve complex problems that require the highest level of expertise and shaping the evolution of product practice at Tesco Mobile.
- You will manage and grow your Chapter members, creating an inclusive culture in which everybody can be at their best.
- You will be outcome-obsessed, working with our tribe leads to ensure chapter members are allocated to the right areas of the business balancing their aspirations and development needs with business outcomes
- There may be a requirement for you to step into squad delivery as a PO alongside your Chapter Lead responsibilities, dependent on business priorities. In this scenario you would target a 60/40 split weighted towards in-squad delivery.
You will need
- Can demonstrate expertise in Product Ownership, particularly for customer journeys, experiences and propositions
- Strong Product Management or Product Ownership background
- Broad understanding of Tesco Mobile and how our business works
- Demonstrates excellent leadership skills and can show evidence of leading cross-functional teams
- Can show evidence of developing colleagues and creating a high-performance culture
- Is non-hierarchical and collaborative, creating a culture of trust
- Shows evidence of critical thinking and innovation
- Has an interest in coaching and mentoring people to achieve brilliant customer and colleague outcomes
