About the role

This role plays a key part in developing and delivering customer propositions for the Online business, ensuring they are insight‑driven, customer‑focused, and executed to a high standard. You’ll work closely with the Customer Proposition Manager and partner with cross‑functional teams to shape new ideas, bring concepts to life, track performance, and ensure the customer is at the heart of every decision.

At Tesco, a Proposition is defined as a service, product, or promise that meets a clear customer need. Sitting at the centre of the business, the Customer Proposition Team collaborates widely to build both long‑ and short‑term propositions that create compelling reasons for millions of customers around the world to choose Tesco, more often and for more of what matters to them.

You will be responsible for

  • Supporting proposition development: Helping to create compelling, insight‑led concepts that meet clear customer needs and align with the wider strategic plan.
  • Using data and insight: Gathering, organising, and interpreting customer and market data to inform decision‑making and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborating cross‑functionally: Working with squads and Centres of Expertise across Online and Technology to translate ideas into fully formed propositions across the 6Ps.
  • Briefing and coordination: Supporting the briefing of insight, execution (communications), and design teams to ensure propositions are delivered clearly, consistently, and effectively.
  • Monitoring and reporting: Tracking key customer and category metrics, sharing updates, and highlighting opportunities to optimise performance.
  • ‘The How’: Building strong, collaborative relationships across squads, cross‑functional partners, and key stakeholders, while maintaining visibility of plans and ensuring accurate documentation and timely updates between Customer and Online teams.
  • Ensuring compliance: Following our Business Code of Conduct and acting with integrity and due diligence at all times.

You will need

  • A strong customer focus and genuine curiosity about customer behaviours, motivations, and needs.
  • Analytical ability, with confidence in organising and interpreting data to support informed decision‑making.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and build positive working relationships.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in retail and digital trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
