  • Influencing, communicating and engaging effectively with a wide range of senior stakeholders, leveraging strong political awareness and judgement.
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks and driving the necessary actions to address them.
  • Setting up and running the appropriate governance needed to approve and manage delivery of the portfolio plan.
  • Preparing regular status reports, dashboards and presentations to monitor and communicate delivery progress.
  • Ensuring business cases across the portfolio are developed consistently, robustly and in line with agreed standards.
  • Coordinating portfolio prioritisation activities to support decision‑making.
  • Ensuring dependencies are properly managed and escalating risks where appropriate.
  • Leading the development and delivery of the portfolio stakeholder engagement and communication plan.
  • Identifying constraints within the portfolio and working with others to resolve or remove them.
  • Operating within best‑practice portfolio management frameworks, adapting your approach as required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve portfolio management practices and engaging with the Centre of Excellence to implement enhancements.
  • Remaining agile and adaptable to evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrating expertise in your field and actively sharing knowledge, insight and enthusiasm with others.

You will need

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and work alongside senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • The capability to provide leadership and direction for a function’s change portfolio.
  • Experience designing Long Term and Annual Plans that secure approval for delivery.
