About the role
As an Online Seasonal Optimisation Project Manager, you will identify, lead and evaluate opportunities to improve Online trading performance and deliver customer-facing improvements. The role focuses on delivering in‑year improvements aligned to key seasonal events, working closely with the Online Analytics teams to ensure decisions and actions are guided by data‑driven insights.
You will be responsible for
- Leading and coordinating the planning and delivery of key initiatives that support Online seasonal events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, Summer), ensuring teams are aligned to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve commercial goals.
- Supporting tactical response plans when new risks or opportunities emerge, enabling swift and effective action with clear stakeholder alignment.
- Identifying and prioritising customer-facing optimisation opportunities by using insight from analytics, customer feedback, and commercial performance.
- Driving initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, conversion, and profitability across the Online channel.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships across Technology, Customer Colleague Engagement Center, Commercial, Fulfilment, and our Business Support functions to enable fast-paced and effective delivery.
- Framing and solving complex problems in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, maintaining a strong focus on customer impact.
- Staying up to date with market trends and competitor activity to inform decision‑making and identify potential risks or areas of opportunity.
- Delivering key project initiatives, including bringing Grocery Home Shopping slot booking forward to help customers plan earlier for summer, and working with Technology teams to improve the stability and reduce friction in the Christmas Waiting Room experience.
You will need
- Experience in e‑commerce and a passion for retail, particularly during high‑intensity seasonal periods.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver cross‑functional projects or programmes on time and to a high standard.
- Confidence in managing multiple priorities simultaneously, often under tight timelines.
- A solid understanding of financial, commercial, and customer performance metrics, and how they influence decision‑making.
- Strong engagement and influencing skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Clear, concise communication and presentation skills, tailored to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and turn insight into practical, evidence‑based recommendations.
