About the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, fast-paced team shaping how Tesco connects with millions of customers.

You’ll lead the creation and delivery of world-class social media strategies across paid and organic channels, influencer partnerships, and digital activations that bring Tesco’s marketing campaigns to life. From proactive and reactive content to tapping into cultural trends, you’ll ensure Tesco stays relevant and engaging across all platforms.

The role requires strong stakeholder management and collaboration, working cross-functionally with internal teams, influencer talent, multiple agencies, and affiliate partners. You’ll be hands-on across all major social platforms, driving impactful campaigns and always-on content.

As this position is heavily focused on food content, a passion for high-quality production and creative storytelling is highly desirable.

You will be responsible for

  • Manage the planning, briefing, development, production & execution of paid and organic social media content including pro-active and reactive content 
  • Reactive community management on all generated & dark posted content 
  • Schedule and/or deploy social media posts across all platforms: Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat etc   
  • Setting clear measures and KPIs for activity to make sure we're constantly improving, and to show the impact and efficiency of our activity 
  • Assessing customer behaviour research, insights & trends, and work with creative and media agencies to build an appropriate content plan 
  • Assessing organic and paid media plans and recommendations in line with brief objectives and platform opportunities 
  • Providing ongoing analysis, key insights and recommendations to optimise the performance of social media and streamline ways of working 
  • Working with other departments and peers around key campaigns to make sure our messages are consistent across multiple channels and relevant to the wider business & customer needs 
  • Continuously updating the team on planned activities, results, competitor activity and test & learn opportunities. 
  • Building strong relationship with our agency partners, social media platforms and Influencers, managing the day-to-day relationship with our creative and media agencies 
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

You will need

  • Strong background in content marketing, especially across social media and influencer marketing 
  • Experience in social listening, reporting, and trend analysis
  • Understanding of retail customer behaviour and how it evolves
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and platform developments
  • Ability to critically review creative content and tailor it for maximum impact
  • Experience with KPIs, analytics, and performance measurement
