About the role
As a Price and Promotions Senior Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping pricing and promotional strategies through timely insights and advanced analysis. Using sophisticated analytical and modelling techniques, you’ll provide actionable recommendations that drive commercial performance and support strategic decision-making.
You will be responsible for
- Supporting the delivery of key strategic projects and leading research on: price architecture, promotion optimisation, trade plan analysis, sales forecasting, market performance.
- Writing complex SQL queries to develop new insight and analysis.
- Identifying and solving issues, and performing thorough QA.
- Managing database storage and optimising efficiency of queries.
- Documenting processes and upskilling data users.
- Working with Machine Learning models, monitoring performance and accuracy.
- Supporting the end-to-end process from planning and forecasting through to performance review and insight.
- Explaining technical details to stakeholders concisely through reports and presentations.
- Proactively identifying processes where we can standardise, simplify, and automate.
- Working closely with other teams relevant teams, such as Data, Pricing, Trade, Dunnhumby, and Technology to ensure our commercial strategy is aligned and executed efficiently
You will need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related field.
- Experience focusing on the practical & pragmatic use of data and a passion for connecting your work directly to the customer experience, making a real and tangible impact.
- Substantial experience with handling large data volumes with modern data. processing tools, especially SQL (Teradata and Hadoop).
- Mathematical and logic-based reasoning skills.
- Python and similar coding languages.
- Tableau, PowerBI and similar visualisation tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
