About the role

The role will provide on-site operational and administrative support to ensure process compliance and report to the Assistant Transport Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to deliver a great service, keep all systems up-to-date and documentation recorded accurately.  You must be prepared to be flexible in relation to duties and shift patterns.

You will be responsible for

  • Handle queries & complaints from customers (stores)
  • Brief drivers on their daily activities (Pre & post-delivery route completion)
  • Despatch delivery routes in line with the pre-planned delivery schedule & report any delivery concerns to my shift manager.
  • Take a pro-active part in ensuring that the delivery service levels are maintained and foresee potential issues.
  • Assisting the warehouse & transport management team in keeping fleets safe and legal
  • Maintaining records and assisting in filing records
  • Accurate completion of Transport KPIs
  • Manage & conduct work activities in such a way as to ensure the safety, health & welfare at work of all colleagues & customers
  • Comply with Data Protection by ensuring that all confidential, sensitive information and personnel files are kept secure and documents are not left unattended.

You will need

  • Be proficient in Microsoft packages including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Have effective communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Be organised, capable of planning, and has the flexibility to work well under pressure
  • Be patient, resilient and have a calm and logical approach
  • An understanding of Working Time Directive preferred (not essential)
  • Have no live disciplinaries.
  • Have good attendance record
  • Relevant training will be provided on systems and procedures used within the role.
