About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a marketer to join the Tesco Café business. This would suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is very well organised, creative, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first.

You will be responsible for

  • Support the Marketing Manager in the delivery of the marketing and customer proposition plans, remodel programme and digital transformation.
  • To support the creation and implementation of campaigns that will attract new customers. This will include producing briefs, communications execution, promotional activity and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and manage the day-to-day activity with our creative and print agencies.
  • To become the point-of-sale expert, understanding the individual requirements of projects and fulfilling this for every campaign. Working with the print agency to fulfil POS orders, manage stock and drive efficiencies.
  • Own the campaign process from a marketing POV – from producing the creative brief, through the creative concept process and through to the print and launch of the campaign POS.
  • Coordinate campaign photoshoots working closely with the food development team, creative agency and photographer.
  • To be the first port of call for site queries regarding marketing, forming strong working relationships with the operations teams.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and work cross-functionally across commercial, operations, IT and food development as well as stakeholders in the wider Tesco business.
  • Manage and coordinate the marketing material for the remodel programme as well as other trials we may run throughout the year.
  • Work with the Insight and Food Development team to develop a strong understanding of the competitor landscape and share with the wider team.
  • Be the brand guardian, ensuring all communications are in line with our brand guidelines and reflect the brand.
  • Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence.
  • Awareness of the marketing spend and be responsible for raising POs.

You will need

  • Have strong organisation and multi-tasking skills and be confident in managing critical paths.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be confident at landing end-to-end projects working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Be interested in food development, trends and the hospitality industry.
  • Feel comfortable working with and communicating with senior leaders.
  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Interest in food and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Be responsive and flexible to business needs.
  • The ability to plan and organise with a self-start attitude. 
  • Be able to think creativity and outside of the box. 
  • Able to build solid working relationships with peers and be a strong team player.
  • Desirable: Marketing qualifications or marketing experience.
