About the role
As Buying Manager for Confectionery, Crisps and Snacks, you’ll lead the strategy to deliver great value and exciting products for customers while making things simpler for stores. You’ll manage supplier relationships, drive sales and profit across seasonal and everyday ranges, and bring new products to market ahead of the competition. Working closely with Tesco, Booker, and supply chain teams, you’ll ensure strong availability, reduce waste, and keep our pricing competitive. You’ll also support team development and champion continuous improvement across all areas of buying.
You will be responsible for
Buying Manager Confectionary, Crisps and Snacks
What I do:
• Creating a strategic plan to deliver better for customers and simpler for stores
• Deliver sales, volume & profit in line with budgets across All Year Round & Seasonal Confectionery
• Build, Negotiate and Agree buy/sell plans with suppliers to support delivery of budgets
• Work cross functionally across the business including Tesco & Booker and build strong relationships
• Work with supply chain to deliver best route to market, improve availability, reduce waste and understand MOQ impacts.
• Understand market competition and identify new opportunities
• Create a promotional plan that is best in class and helps drive market outperformance
• Strive to be 1st in market in delivering NPD and initiatives.
• Consistently improve our range to our customers needs.
• Ensure the price basket is managed so we are competitive in the market whilst delivering the margin.
• Communicate price and promotions through an agreed marketing plan.
• Work with suppliers to deliver new initiatives that have cost benefits for One Stop.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure they fully understand our ways of working so any processes put in place comply with company principles.
• Work to ensure that all initiative are right for stores and build a plan and process that is simple to execute.
• Look at root cause of problems and offer solutions.
• Ask for and action feedback.
• Plan and review my work to meet my objectives.
• Have a personal development plan for my behavioural and technical needs.
• Manage & conduct work activities in such a way as to ensure the safety, health & welfare at work of all colleagues & customers
• I manage and help support development on a Level 1 Buying Assistant for Crisps & Snacks
