In this role, you’ll play a key part in deepening our understanding of customers, leveraging our new customer segmentation to generate powerful insights. You will help identify opportunities for growth and contribute to shaping the direction of the UK and Customer plans. By delivering clear, actionable insights and recommendations, you’ll directly influence the evolution of our customer-facing propositions, helping Tesco meet its strategic goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will be responsible for

  • Use data and insight to craft compelling narratives, sharing these across the business to deliver clear, practical recommendations that drive action.

  • Manage incoming research and analytics requests, shaping focused and effective briefs that align with business needs.

  • Integrate and connect multiple data sources—including research, behavioural data, customer panels, economic indicators, and market context—to generate actionable insight about our customers, competitors, and market landscape.

  • Support senior colleagues in developing and evolving customer propositions, from insight-led concept development through to post-launch evaluation.

  • Ensure insight projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard, presenting findings in a clear, engaging format that highlights the key messages and drives impact.

You will need

  • A passion for understanding customers, with a naturally inquisitive mindset and curiosity about what drives behaviour.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesise data from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights.

  • Experience in an insight function, or as a key recipient of insight (e.g. Planner, Strategist, Brand Manager – agency or client-side).

  • Proficiency in storytelling and data visualisation, with the ability to translate complex data into simple, impactful presentations.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often involving several stakeholders and stages, while delivering on time and to a high standard.

  • Good working knowledge of insight methodologies and tools, alongside solid Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
