About the role
We are currently recruiting an Incident Prevention Manager to support the implementation of our ‘A Safer Tesco’ strategy and to reduce preventable security incidents, whilst improving security procedures within our stores to support our vision of everyone, every day, home safely. You will have a detailed knowledge of the safety and security risks and work collaboratively between retail, central Security, Security Hub teams and Operation Support Partner’s to drive down preventable incidents and crime within your area.
You will be responsible for
- Being the trusted expert across your region around security procedures and key legislation to keep our business safe e.g. post incident reviews, usage of safety, security equipment, protecting my personal safety, GDPR, staff searches, key control and seasonal lockdown
- Mentoring and supporting to deliver accurate reporting of security incidents and work closely with the Hub triage team, applying the insight found to drive down preventable security incidents
- Owning the post incident review (PIR) process within your area ensuring it delivers accurate investigation based of facts, which includes detailed crime reference numbers, effective next steps to encourage the 'STAR' behaviours for our colleagues, use of dynamic risk assessment for our guards and a reduction in loss
- Ensuring during completion of PIR you complete welfare checks on any colleagues and third party guards involved in the incident offering relevant support e.g. EAP and utilising trauma training
- Raising non-completion of next steps to the relevant partner where vital
- Proactive usage of centrally provided data, sharing foresight to diagnose and mitigate risk getting to the truth of issues supporting stores to deliver convergence and balanced plans
- Mentoring your stores on timely response to police request for CCTV and be the point of contact for any sophisticated investigations working in collaboration with the hub
- Role modelling and actively celebrating the personal safety behaviours and challenging the behaviour of others as required to reduce preventable security incidents
- Working with Operations Support Partners (OSPs) to support stores have a successful seasonal lockdown
- Consistently facilitating collaboration between central Security, Security Hub teams and Operations Support Partner's in your region to drive down preventable incidents and improve equipment compliance
- Take ownership of your development by keeping up to date with the security trends via independent study
- Contributing to my team by taking the initiative to support team activities
