About the role
We have an exciting opportunity here in the Space, Range and Merchandising Team for a Space Manager to join a collaborative and supportive team!
You'll be working alongside our Property, Retail & Commercial colleagues supporting the delivery of high quality space changes across the estate.
You will be responsible for delivering floor plan updates across the relevant programmes in line with the critical path. It is key that you are great at building relationships, and have great organisation skills.
You will be responsible for
- Supporting the Lead Space Manager in delivering space changes across the relevant programmes in line with the critical path.
- Building positive relationships with key customers across Property, Product, TBS, SRM, Business Support and Customer teams to enable successful implementation.
- Collaborating with Retail, including store directors, throughout (including spending time in stores) to ensure engagement.
- Using a variety of data sources to make your decisions for each store.
- Finding opportunities to improve flows and adjacencies to ensure simplicity for both colleagues and customers.
- Ensuring that all space changes land below the space variation target working with Retail and Property to resolve any discrepancies.
- Commercial awareness of the broader business strategy and the impact this could have on SRM and the projects we work on,
- Understanding how the retail industry works, across all channels, and the impact this has in store, alongside existing and emerging market trends.
- Actively learning and looking for improvements to our processes to ensure we get better year on year.
- Supporting with trials and actively participate in idea generation and refinement.
- Providing relevant and timely updates to senior partners.
- Representing SRM as a whole where trade off decisions are made.
- Maintaining the vibrant and inclusive culture within the team and wider SRM.
You will need
- Passion for Space, Range and Merchandising.
- Understanding store layouts and the customer shopping trips.
- Experience leading cross-functional pieces of work.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills in particular use of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to deliver sophisticated projects in line with an agreed critical path.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a broad group of partners.
- Ability to engage and influence partners optimally.
- Previous experience communicating at senior leader level and presenting expertly to Directors and senior managers including writing papers, presentations and slide decks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
