About the Role

The Cost Domain is a fundamental pillar of Tesco’s commercial operations, managing cost agreements between Tesco and its supplier partners. myProduct: Cost is at the heart of this transformation—an intelligent collaboration hub that empowers colleagues and partners to create, manage, and analyze cost agreements seamlessly.

With built-in insights and predictive analytics, the platform supports smarter buyer negotiations, enabling Tesco to navigate fluctuating market conditions effectively driving cost optimizations that benefit Tesco, our suppliers, and ultimately, our customers.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we shape the strategy and bring our ambitious vision to life. Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers (including researchers), engineers, business teams, program teams, and third-party partners to develop new and existing features for myProduct: Cost across the UK, ROI, and Central Europe. You will drive product development, ensuring a seamless and impactful user experience.

You will be responsible for

  • Define & Drive Product Vision & Strategy
    • Contribute to the product vision and develop a long-term strategic roadmap, aligning it with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
    • Manage dependencies across multiple teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Deliver Measurable Business Impact
    • Own the product’s Outcomes & Key Results (OKRs), measuring impact relentlessly and communicating value to stakeholders.
    • Ensure the product delivers tangible improvements in cost management and negotiation insights.
  • Understand User Needs & Market Dynamics
    • Identify key user personas, stakeholders, and their pain points.
    • Work closely with research, design, analytics, and engineering teams to develop solutions that address real business challenges.
  • Drive Experimentation & Data-Driven Decisions
    • Lead hypothesis-driven experiments, test minimum viable products (MVPs), and make data-backed product decisions.
    • Collaborate with UX and engineering teams to prototype and validate new features before scaling.
  • Effective Execution & Agile Delivery
    • Translate business needs into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
    • Break down complex work into smaller, high-impact deliverables for faster value realization.
    • Work closely with engineering teams to plan and prioritize development sprints.
    • Proactively manage live product issues and ensure smooth resolution.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Present product insights, capabilities, and outcomes to other Tesco Product teams and broader business stakeholders.
    • Build strong relationships with key partners across business and technology functions.
  • Mentorship & Leadership
    • Support and coach junior product managers and peers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing product team.
 

 

 

 

You will need

 

  • Proven experience in product management with a strong understanding of best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong technical acumen—ability to understand legacy, tactical, and strategic technology solutions and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Experience owning a product roadmap and executing product backlogs to achieve measurable OKRs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus, drive change, and influence decision-making across teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hypothesis-driven experimentation and using data to validate product improvements.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX)-led product development and working with design teams.
  • Prior experience in retail technology and understanding of commercial
