The Head Office South Maintenance Manager is an integral part of the Head Office Maintenance Team, managing, coaching, and leading by example to help the team to deliver exceptional service to Tesco Head Office by working collaboratively within the Head Office team, the Head Office stakeholders, and the wider business.
You will be responsible for
- Ensuring there is a safe environment and promoting a safety conscious culture for those who work in our Head Office South sites and offices. Management of the CAFM system to deliver against set KPI's.
- Ensure great maintenance and housekeeping standards are upheld across the estate.
- Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with the Head Office stakeholders and using diplomatic skills to manage the customers’ expectations where required.
- Leading an inclusive team, inspiring confidence in others, empowering and enabling colleagues to deliver an outstanding level of service and highlighting exceptional talent for the future.
- Putting the community, customer, and colleague at the heart of every decision you make.
- Ensuring all maintenance related, building services legal and compliance standards are met, recorded, and where possible exceeded.
- Continually reviewing the workload and capacity of my team, ensuring team structure supports business delivery and offers value to the customer. Building and presenting any sustainable business plans to your line manager which allow the business to become more efficient and effective.
- Developing and being a champion for change to improve performance and productivity, adopting an innovative, cost conscious, and creative approach. Effectively interpret insights and analysis to shape strategic thinking, identifying clear opportunities for improvement and additional value.
- Developing and leading a high performing maintenance team, giving them the opportunities and guidance required for the team to be their best. Forecasting and managing budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.
- Delivering great KPI results with year-on-year improvement.
- Collaborating with the rest of the business to ensure the solutions are truly co-developed and owned at a local level. Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
- Assisting your business stakeholders by providing technical feedback and assistance during the feasibility, snagging, and handover elements of project works across the Head Office Estate.
You will need
- Communication and stakeholder management. Influencing and negotiation.
- Leading a large and diverse team. Internal and external networks.
- Financial competency.
- Task prioritisation, problem solving, and route cause analysis. Analysis of complex data to come to timely decisions.
- Building internal and external networks Risk management and strategic thinking. Commercial and business acumen.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of the latest building standards and regulations.
- Good understanding of third-party contractor management and building maintenance best practices.
- Trade technical or industry management skills - City & Guilds, HND/HNC in an engineering or construction related discipline.
- Previous experience of managing and leading both site static and remote maintenance teams.
- Devising and implementing change programmes.
- Previous Technical Building Services / Maintenance Engineering Experience. Experience in a similar scale hard services facilities or maintenance business.
- Qualification within health and safety working practices – NEBOSH, IOSH managing safely.
