The Data Product team build and manage Tesco’s big data and analytical data platforms and aplications. We work across all the core business domains – Customer, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial etc and are responsible to enable data product development needs across Tesco PLC.
Joining us means playing a part in defining; building and launching an ambitious roadmap of Customer data products that could affect the lives of millions of people over the years to come.
You will be working hand in hand with other product managers, programme, data engineers, and architects to ensure continuous development across our customer data need. You will be responsible for
- Have complete ownership of a data domain within a data technology portfolio, managing multiple internal/external stakeholders and drive the Product strategy and execution for that area
- Formulate the vision, strategy and roadmap for the set of product you own in the portfolio throughout the product lifecycle and work with others in aligning the strategic priorities, dependencies and roadmap across the product portfolio
- Accountable for the performance/adoption of the product and work towards achieving the Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs)
- Plan and co-ordinate and prioritise significant product efforts that have dependencies on multiple product and engineering teams
- Understand and develop key user personas, customers & stakeholders for the product and their pain points
- Effectively document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests and help the team in breaking down a complex piece of work/epic into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster
- Lead discovery work around a minimum viable product (MVP) for any new product/feature, collaborating with engineering teams to prototype and validate a MVP

- Accountable for the impact of the product and work towards achieving measurable outcomes using OKRs
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories/ acceptance criterion
- Understand User Research/ Design Thinking concepts and applied those for your product work.
You will need
- Customer Data Product in regulatory environment working with enterprise level big data platforms and applications, managing petabytes of data.
- Working with quantitative and/or qualitative data, gathered through various channels, including direct customer interactions, surveys, social media, and analytics tools to inform product decision making.
- Working with identity and profile data, to personalise customer interactions and communications
- Experience in segmentation solutions to support product communication and insight.
- Working with descriptive data, such as customer interests, lifestyle, and preferences, through surveys, customer feedback, and social media interactions helping to understand customers on a deeper level and develop products that meet their specific needs and preferences.
- Experience delivering data products for a large organisation in coordination with the data architects, data scientists, engineering, analysts and business stakeholders.
- Proven success of having managed a complex technology product that led to the delivery of significant value to your stakeholders
- Good knowledge in the use of Tools & Techniques for Backlog prioritisation, managing dependencies and for gaining insights using available data points.
- Have great prioritization and decision-making skills and have made good judgement around business priorities and resource allocation, etc.
· Experience building-out new products and platforms in coordination with data science, engineering, analysts and business teams
· Background in analytics/insight with experience enabling data consumers & decision makers (desirable)
