About the role

The key focus of this role is to support the Buying Manager collaboratively with the internal One Stop team and our supplier partners to drive sales and profit through the strategic planning of the category.

You will be responsible for

  •  Buying administration including promotional loading, retro claims and product set up Supporting the Buying Manger to analyse and understand performance to deliver LFL sales growth in line with set budgets.
  • Margin management and category performance.
  • Actively support negotiation of supplier joint business plans to meet financial targets.
  • Supporting to deliver range change plans on time and in full.
  • Deliver growth plan, sales and margin with corresponding investment agreements.
  • Improve and maintain excellent supplier relationships.
  • Competitor analysis including understanding of pricing and the category position vs policy.
  • Helping to deliver working capital targets.
  • Range management and category planning.
  • Cross functional working to deliver business initiatives – example of NPD launches.
  • Work collaboratively with the whole Tesco group.
