About the role

We are seeking a hardworking UX Designer to join our Customer Journey & UXDR Chapter. At Tesco Mobile, being people-focused means understanding the needs, emotions, and aspirations of our customers. As a UX Designer you will work in the Tesco Group Squad, and collaborate within cross-functional teams, working with empathy and insight to build meaningful and intuitive digital experiences.

You will be responsible for

  • Design Thinking: Approach Product Design with compassion, understanding the emotions and behaviours of our users. Build designs that resonate with our customers, addressing their difficulties and improving their digital interactions
  • Cross Functional Squad Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the Tesco Group Squad to address some exciting features that will further immerse Tesco Mobile into the Tesco Group experience
  • Understand Design Systems: Help evolve our Design System along side our Product Designers, ensuring consistency and cohesiveness across our digital channels. Uphold our people-focused approach by delivering seamless and user-friendly interfaces
  • User-Centered Research: Conduct in-depth user research to gain insights into customer needs and preferences. Use qualitative and quantitative research methods to advise design decisions and advocate for user-centric solutions
  • Inclusive Design: Champion inclusive design practices, ensuring that our digital products are accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities or disabilities
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and data analysis. Strive for excellence by refining designs and incorporating valuable insights to improve user happiness
  • Collaborative Innovation: Actively contribute to a culture of innovation within the Chapter and across the organisation. Collaborate with colleagues to explore innovative design solutions and push the boundaries of product experience

You will need

  • Bachelor's, Master's degree in UX design, Product Design, human-computer interaction, or a related field/equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer, with a strong focus on empathy-driven design and user-centered methodologies
  • Understand how to use Design Systems for consistent and intuitive user interfaces
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, or similar
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, promoting digital inclusivity for all users
  • Experience in agile development and cross-functional collaboration is highly desirable
