We are delighted to share that a new opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buying Manager to join the Home Accessories team on a secondment basis (12 months)
Working alongside the merchandising manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we plan and deliver the most commercial and profitable ranges to meet our Customer’s needs.
The successful candidate will have strong range and trade planning experience as well as time spent leading and developing teams.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced buying manager looking for a lead position or a sideways move for a new challenge to broaden their experience.

You will be responsible for
- Supporting the category strategy review process and strategic change programmes and then translating that into clear plans for my team to drive category growth
- Encouraging my team to build long term supplier relationships, improving the trading position in a sustainable way
- Reviewing existing supplier performance and new supplier proposals
- Leading or supporting complex negotiations by the buying team, attending regular meetings with key suppliers
- Challenging my team continually to create a range our customers love, whilst optimising sales and margin
- Ensuring price is competitive and profitable throughout seasonal trading
- Working alongside my merchandising colleagues to set the category trade and events plan with market leading and customer insight driven promotions and events
- Ensuring the range and trade plans are delivered, safeguarding adherence to the critical path
- Completing buying trips to the sourcing hubs to review new product developments, meet with suppliers and foster relationships with IS
- Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best
- Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious
