About the role

We are looking for a skilled Finance Manager to support the Group Procurement Director, working at the core of our Goods & Services Not for Resale (GSNFR) cost base.

You will collaborate closely with the Procurement leadership team and Finance colleagues to advance our Save to Invest (S2I) plan, a pivotal element of our group strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee financial reporting, planning, and forecasting related to GSNFR.
  • Analyze financial data and offer strategic insights to guide business decisions.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will be responsible for

  • Supporting the Procurement Director and Heads of Global Sourcing in understanding the financial impacts of project delivery.
  • Developing positive relationships and trust across diverse range of colleagues
  • Ensuring the integrity of financial reporting in partnership with Finance colleagues.
  • Overseeing GSNFR and Waste & Recycling reporting, forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans, as well as governance reporting.
  • Assessing performance against budget and providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Effectively communicating accurate information, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
  • Managing financial planning cycles, including long-range planning and scenario analysis.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process for GSNFR, aligning with business plans and financial targets.
  • Collaborating with business partners to find opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects to improve financial processes and systems.

You will need

  • An accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling
  • Commercial awareness of the wider retail industry
  • Ability to present complex financial information effectively to non-finance colleagues
  • Excellence in building relationships, prioritizing competing demands, and applying strong communication skills to challenge senior colleagues respectfully
