About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance Change team!

The Programme Management Office (PMO) define, implement and enable the programme management environment. The Controls and Process Manager role will be critical to the success of the PMO function and the programme overall by supplying the expertise and support on the process and controls. The role is crucial to ensuring we manage and control change, provide quality assurance of programme delivery, manage RAIDDA, and progress the programme through the quality management process (flow).

You will be responsible for

  • Implementing and running Change Control process and Change Control Board to ensure changes to the baseline are impact assessed, discussed and (where approved) implemented. This includes working with the PMs to QA, log, request impact assessment, discuss and track implementation of the Change Controls.
  • Report on the Change Control KPIs to ensure visibility of the number and type of changes is given to Head of PMO and Programme Board.
  • Designing, implementing and running the Design Authority including the process to escalate from Change Control forums.
  • Taking responsibility for Quality Management at the 1st Line Assurance level, managing the internal controls and standards of the Programme. This includes validating quality of workstream deliverables, managing standards and controls, assessing ways of working to ensure they are collaborative and outcome-focused, and RAID mgt.
  •  Managing Risk, Assumptions, Isse, Dependencies, Decisions and Actionsl (RAIDDA) at the Programme Level. 
  • Owning the reporting of the Principal Group Risk - preparing material in line with Group Risk standards and validating with the relevant stakeholders ahead of submission.
  • Supporting the RAIDDA logs at the Project Level.
  • Implementing and running the RAIDDA meeting, to review RAIDDA items at a programme and organisational level.
  • Managing any RAID trees and ensuring the associated items are appropriately linked and updated in the logs. Tracking and providing insight and updating on the KPIs on a cadence agreed by the Programme Manager.
  • Supporting the Flow process, working with PM's to ensure meetings are set, artefacts are collected, attendees/delegates are briefed, pre-reads are circulated and actions/minutes are noted.
  • Managing and aligning with PlanView for any of the above as required.
  • Supporting and working collaboratively with the wider PMO and Finance Change function where needed.
  • Ensuring the standards at a Portfolio level are implemented and adhered to

You will need

  • Experience in the establishment and / operation of a programme based a PMO function
  • Solid understanding of PMO process, standards and governance; experience of operational management within a PMO function
  • Experience of planning and co-ordinating major transformational programmes in a Finance function
  • Experience of driving change using delivery methodologies
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Programme or project management accreditation
  • Experience working in a retail environment
