About the role

You will lead the end to end process for the design and delivery of Group Capability Governance and planning. You'll work to partner with all aspects of the capability team, wider people team and business stakeholders (e.g. capacity planning team) to ensure we have a defined capability plan that we deliver against. Owning the budget management process for the team, working with stakeholders to prioritise and forecast future spend whilst taking a cost conscious approach to all current spend.

You will be responsible for

  • Design, implement and manage the group wide capability governance process and blueprint.
  • Partner with the capability leadership team (UK & TBS - Group where applicable) to help prioritise workload for the group capability design managers, providing a holistic view of work coming in from the business and aligning that to our strategic priorities going forward.
  • Work in partnership with the TBS team and lead the prioritisation of work to ensure it serves our purpose and strategic priorities.
  • Work across the leads and design team to join the dots and break down any siloed working.
  • Liaise with market capability teams to ensure a group view is taken across work, taking a long term view and moving us towards a group capability PoE.
  • Influence the teams and ensure everyone is aware of priorities, balancing that with safe and legal work requirements.
  • Responsible for budget management, working with budget holders and Finance to proactively build and manage our budget and to improve our budget forecasting and accuracy.
  • Own and be the point of contact for our Managed Learning Service (MLS) provider and actively work with them to ensure rigorous governance when working with third parties.
  • Facilitating the management of our goods not for resale plans including holding our MLS Provider to account on spend reporting, plus any additional Procurement initiatives.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure training spend for the business is channeled through the capability team.
  • Represent Capability, contributing and managing Corporate reporting initiatives and PLC comms opportunities.
  • Ensure we strive for a learner lead, simple and accessible group capability offer that is data led and supports our strategic priorities.
  • Work seamlessly across the people operating model and wider capability PoE (UK, Group & TBS) to respond to the changing needs of the business in an agile manner whilst always keeping the learner experience at the heart of everything we do.
  • Maintain expertise and continued professional development, be a thought leader in your space and strive for continuous improvement across the capability catalogue.
  • Use data & analytics to critically review and evaluate existing development solutions.
  • Present data in a compelling way to report back to the business, make recommendations for improvements and support future business cases.
