About the role

The insight team’s mission is to influence Tesco to make confident decisions because we understand Customers and Colleagues better than anyone. Our key priorities are setting the customer agenda, commercialising insight, business partnering internally and externally, storytelling and redefining insight. In this role you will use your analytical and research skills to develop insights about Customers, Tesco, Competitors and the Market to inform and craft our seasonal events strategy.

You will be responsible for

  • Connecting data sets and insights from multiple sources, to support the creation of insights about our customers, market, competitors and Tesco performance that we can act upon within Seasonal Events.
  • Creating a clear narrative which address’s the business questions, in an actionable and commercially astute way. Presenting your work will be in a way which makes the complex simple and lands the key messages with impact.
  • Work closely with senior colleagues and agencies to understand the objectives for research; devise the best approaches and methods for our research studies and analysis
  • Work in an agile way to manage multiple projects, prioritise projects and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and on time

You will need

  • Number of years experience either in an insight function directly or using insights in a relevant commercial industry
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, including key data sources/tools e.g. Kantar/IRI/TBS. As well as comfortable with using large data sets and multiple data sources
  • Solid understanding of different insight approaches and tools (quantitive/qualitative)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple agencies.
  • Ability to build and develop positive relationships and networks both within Tesco and across agencies
