About the role
At Tesco, we are looking for a knowledgeable Product Manager / Owner to join us to help Manage Product Operations at Tesco. Does this sound like you? If so this could be your next role.
The Product Operations team enables Product colleagues to work at their best by building Product Capabilities, streamlining workflows and enabling cross-functional communication.
As a Product Operations Manager you will be embedded within Product Teams and provided strategic support to Leadership, develop and share standard process and ensuring Product colleagues are able to thrive at Tesco.
The way we do this is by being a Product Evangelist, promoting agile principles and an experimental mentality, with as much focus on people as you’ll have on process. This role benefits from having an umbrella view over multiple Product, Design, Engineering and Portfolio teams making it a pivotal role with the ability to see the impact your work has on the teams you support.
You will be responsible for
- Demonstrating your Product Management experience to support various Product Teams to improve their ways of working by and seeking out opportunities to standardise / systematise solutions, for both the product teams you're embedded within and the broader product community.
- Supporting Heads of Product in setting, presenting and aligning the team’s vision and goals by facilitating OKR setting workshops and roadmapping sessions
- Build trust and rapport with key team members including Product Directors, Heads of Products and their cross-functional counterparts.
- Understanding Product Development processes within Tesco and find opportunities for improvement, automation and standardisation
- Having an outstanding umbrella view across multiple teams and using this insight to develop standard methodologies and playbooks
- Conducting analysis of data to identify trends, surfacing difficulties, brainstorming solutions, developing delivery plans and measuring impact of change
- Breaking down sophisticated problems and collaborating closely with the product community to develop, launch and iterate on experiments.
- Running engaging workshops and retrospectives to capture and incorporate the best insights and thinking of others.
- Managing and facilitating monthly product reviews and weekly product round-up sessions, as well as being responsible for cyclical communications within your Product community.
- Running cyclical assessments of Product teams’ health, practice maturity and/or skills, including seeing opportunities, driving improvements and crafting a feedback loop with Head of Product and the Agile Coaching Team.
- Encouraging a centre of excellence and evangelise the best Product Management practice across the teams in collaboration with the Agile Product Coaching Team.
- Collaborating with other Product Ops Managers in running quarterly prioritisation activities.
