Lead Development Manager - Whoosh

About the role

As a Lead Development Manager at Whoosh we take ownership of business planning, programme management & proposition development for Whoosh Tesco's super speedy new Delivery proposition business.

We define the long-term business plan identifying opportunities to grow the size of the business profitably. Using the business plan develop the yearly programme roadmap and provide leadership to manage delivery against OKRs. Own the budgeting, investment and programme governance. Working with your squad members continuously find opportunities, develop reasons and run trials to improve the fulfilment offer & pricing.

You will be responsible for

Proposition Development

• Line managing Whoosh Development manager for continuous evolution of 'Tesco's Rapid Delivery Proposition (Whoosh)' including but not limited to customer offer, pricing, promotions, range and subscriptions
• Using data and market research to identify opportunities to grow sales and profit.
• Crafting business cases, running tests and implementing takeaways - Working with various business teams to ensure knowledge is shared across business for harmonious and efficient proposition development and testing

Business Strategy & Performance

• Leading the business planning to define a rolling 3-year plan for Whoosh working collaboratively with other business leads, technology partners and finance partner
• Translating the long-term plan into yearly budget, business objectives, and key result areas
• Proactively identifying risks, mitigations and new opportunities to deliver against the business objectives Programme Management

Programme Management

• Working cross-functionally to build a comprehensive programme plan, supervising delivery of key initiatives against the timelines and highlighting any potential delays
• Managing the Whoosh business governance and programme communication with Online Leadership Team
• Work as a business partner to Technology teams, build business cases to advise technology backlog prioritisation

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in agile setups
• Good commercial foresight and understanding
• Strong communication and storytelling skills
