About the role

As an Online Analyst at Tesco we balance outstanding delivery for customers on what matters, engaging teams and colleagues, with the needs of the business. We act as an authority and often the first layer of management of people or projects.

A Senior Online Analyst conducts practical analytics and reporting to help team members to understand performance of the Online business and advise our Online strategy and tactical activity.

You will be responsible for

  • I stand over developing the Online Weekly Business Review dashboards and support in presenting trading performance to the leadership team.
  • I develop data requirements and feed them into the reporting 2.0 stream to produce regularly and perform user acceptance testing of new data tables.
  • I attend data domain reviews to keep up to date with the latest data developments. I maintain the data dictionary with the latest data tables and information.
  • I gather and shape data briefs and projects using the tracker, develop analytical approaches, deliver accurate insight in a timely manner, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure the best recommendations are identified and delivered.
  • I support the analytics manager with prioritisation and other analysts on their data briefs and projects.
  • I promote a data-driven, self-serve culture and ensure dashboards, tools, resources and insight produced by the team are shared widely, understood and acted upon, and develop new ones to meet the needs of the department.
  • I support the team with their technical development and support with the induction of new starters.
  • I manage the agenda for your 1-2-1s and personal development sessions.
  • I take a leading role in the Online Analytics Community and in implementing ways of working guidelines inc. those on documenting analytical approach, code and outputs clearly, sense checking, peer reviewing and sharing work.
