About the role

Within the Global Partnerships team, we help lead the partnering with the largest, most forward thinking Branded suppliers into Tesco; helping to align Tesco and our supply partners to unlock joint growth opportunities. Across our multiple markets, channels and categories there are lots of interesting problems to solve; how do we best serve our online customers, how should we flow product into thousands of stores, how can we use our joint scale to go faster on sustainability initiatives. Across all we questions we ask ourselves and supply partners, bring data to the forefront of decision making has never been more important. You'll play a vital role in helping to start building out how the team's initiatives and ideas are based in data-driven insight, facilitating collaboration with Tesco colleagues and our partnership with suppliers.

You will be responsible for

  • Using a combination of data and business understanding to turn data into insight, root causing issues, defining problems, designing creative solutions and implementing them in the business.
  • Maintaining & developing our suite of insight reports to give our operators and leadership visibility of how the business is performing and what we need to do to improve.
  • Reporting data accurately and turning it into useful information which has context and supporting narrative.
  • Owning a project; build engagement, influence relevant stakeholders and deliver change in line with milestones.
  • Working closely with other teams in the Product division, such as Buying teams, Product Proposition, Promotions, Trade Planning, and Space, Range & Display (SRD) to ensure our full commercial strategy is aligned and executed efficiently.
  • Support the delivery of key strategic projects across the product and channel teams Support the end-to-end process from planning and forecasting through to performance review and insight.
  • Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and hand-over protocols and successfully completing all my training so that I have zero GSCOP breaches.
  • Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within the team.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

You will need

Operational Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills and a working knowledge of SQL (Teradata or Hadoop), and / or Alteryx or Python.
  • Report and dashboard creation with Tableau
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, translating complex issues into clear and actionable frameworks and insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication, ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong business acumen and the drive to make changes to the way the company operates

Experience:

  • Experience with handling large data volumes with modern data processing tools, e.g. by using SQL / Hadoop / Python.
  • The ability to simplify complex issues and implement practical solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and collaborate with other teams to deliver to objectives
  • The ability to innovate new and pragmatic solutions using your own ideas Able to work across various cultures
