About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Business Partner to the UK People Director and Global Procurement Director and therefore you will play a meaningful role in the delivery of the Save to Invest (S2I) pillar.

You will support the UK People Director in setting the strategy for Head office, Save to Invest plans and delivery of the cost line within Budget. In addition, you will support the Global Procurement Director in the delivery of the S2I savings and crafting the strategy for Procurement.

This will involve partnering Exec members for Finance, People, Communications, Legal & Transformation with managing their Head office costs and delivering S2I savings.

You will be responsible for

Head office is a very varied and interesting cost line with a mixture of discretionary and essential costs lines. Partners require support with decision making based on sound financial analysis and clear presentations. Head office is an intrinsic driver of the Save to Invest strategic programme and commands a level of attention from the Executive committee.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Business Partner to the UK People Director, and procurement Director supporting with the delivery of:

  • Ensuring spend is in line with Budget, working together on forecasts and providing clarity on variances and corrective action required
  • Managing approvals on spend to ensure value for money
  • Delivery of the S2I targets, management of the plan and updates to relevant steering groups.
  • Building the LTP and Budgets for Head office and Procurement
  • Ad hoc analysis and investigation to support decision making. Proactively identifying issues and working to resolve.
  • Challenging the business teams and Finance on their forecast to ensure robustness and consistency.
  • Delivery and review of GSNFR savings
  • Presenting at ad hoc UKLT and UK FLT sessions where required

Supporting the team with the partnering of Legal, Finance, Communications, People and Transformation:

  • Ensuring Exec members are managing their costs accordingly and taking corrective action where necessary
  • Robust tracking and understanding of S2I savings.
  • Attending Leadership meetings where relevant.

You will need

  • To be a qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
  • Experience of engaging and influencing senior business collaborators
  • Evolved financial analysis skills
  • The ability to interpret data & derive analysis
  • Strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Resilience & a willingness to challenge the status quo
