About the role

As a Finance Manager you will act as a key Business Partner for the Technology leadership team. You help support the Group’s Technology function to optimise the contractual cost base through interactions and touchpoints across the business, as well as working closely with the Technology teams to build business cases to support significant projects and investments.

The Technology teams work in an environment where scale and resilience are essential, so ensuring a robust understand the financial implications of these activities on the Group’s performance is an essential part of the role.

This broad ranging finance role will suit a proactive finance professional with the ability to interact with, and influence, senior collaborators and has experience in delivering change.

You will be responsible for

  • Working with Technology Leadership team and FP&A to drive value through an integrated Strategic and Annual plan for Technology Maintenance costs. Supporting budget reviews, key bottom-up planning and assumptions and alignment of contractual cost plans and targets.
  • Working closely with Technology budget owners and procurement teams to identify, quantify, and track savings and efficiency opportunities as part of the Group’s S2I targets
  • Reviewing and challenging business cases for Technology Infrastructure investments, ensuring the costs, requirements and benefits are fully understood, and incremental spend in Technology to save money elsewhere in the business is appropriately identified
  • Working effectively with Control and FP&A to deliver informative Management Accounts and Director Packs for the leadership to ensure good controls of their areas with detailed risks and opportunities around Technology Maintenance spend.
  • Delivering ad hoc financial modelling and analysis to support innovation and business decision making, working with Control & FP&A.
  • Identifying & delivering efficiency savings across the cost base and promoting cost consciousness culture.
  • Driving process improvements and simplification of the finance operating model, working with finance teams across the end to end contract and licence life cycle
  • Helping to develop Financial Awareness across the Technology team
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

You will need

  • An accountancy qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Data interpretation and analysis
  • Commercial awareness and an eye for business
  • Communication & Influencing skills
  • Senior Collaborator management
  • Resilience & willingness to challenge
  • The ability to work independently and drive the finance agenda
  • Finance experience post-qualification in industry
  • An understanding of Technology function is an advantage
