About the role
As a highly experienced Automation Engineer, you will develop technical standards by working with your stakeholders and technical suppliers to create solutions to meet our long term business needs.
You will be responsible for
- Developing world class solutions and standards which support the delivery of the annual business plan for Automation Engineering
- Develop functional / design specifications to support GP the commercial tendering and contract discussions
- To understand technologies and how best to apply within Tesco to support the business plan
- Understanding equipment performance and working with colleagues to identify and explore root cause issues and creating proposals which inform short, medium and long term plans.
- Identifying ways to drive continuous improvement within automation equipment and systems; I identify ways to deliver better, simpler and cheaper solutions
- Developing productive relationships with industry experts, colleagues and stakeholders (Distribution and Property), I energize and influence others to get the job done and deliver great results.
- Work with all my colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the correct application of technical standards for automation equipment.
- Bringing technical innovation and new ideas to allow the business to stay up to date.
You will need
Operational skills relevant for this job:
- Qualified to degree or equivalent educational level.
- A detailed understanding of automation plant and systems within the sector.
- An open minded approach to innovation and the future needs of the business.
Experience relevant for this job:
- Experience of project design and delivery, writing specifications in this sector.
- Good understanding of industry standards and relevant legislation.
- Understands Health & Safety and how to best approach specifications to deliver easy to maintain products.
