About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Project / Programme Manager to join our Technology Practice where you will work on our Fulfilment Programme.

The Tesco Fulfilment operation is a recognised world leader across the retail industry in making sure our customers can always get the products they want whether in store or online. With the largest online Grocery operation in the UK and spanning six countries globally. This is an outstanding opportunity to deliver valuable impact at scale, by reducing our operating costs or to enable our high-reaching growth plans through new propositions and automated fulfilment centres.

Our challenge is to create a strategic, scalable and user intuitive fulfilment platform to enhance and optimise resources and increase the end-to-end fulfilment efficiency. Delivering innovative step change and deploying new technologies, including Automation, AI and Robotics.

You will join our growing Product, Engineering and Programme teams in building the technology solutions needed to support and deliver our Customer Fulfilment UFC plan. You will be responsible for

  • Work with our Product and Engineering teams to prioritise and deliver valuable change
  • Handling and delivering change in automated Fulfilment centres:
  • End to End ownership of changes (internally and across different automation solutions) required to support new operating models in new UFCs (e.g. Trunking, Integrated Click & Collect etc)
  • Ensuring standardisation across all new and established UFCs. Standard release cadence and pipelines.
  • Automation changes in the existing CFC’s
  • Manage and forecast the budget for any given stream of work
  • Deliver sophisticated programmes with multiple business and technical risks that will affect the success of key Tesco business priorities
  • Build and supervise a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan, focussing on unlocking business value
  • Foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion and handle critical issues
  • Effectively handle incidents, ensuring teams are updated with the right information to drive accurate decisions and conduct Post incident reviews, effectively communicate the output and follow up on the next steps

You will need

Key Skills and Experience

  • 2 - 6 years of experience delivering Technical Projects or Programmes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, articulating sophisticated technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Experience delivering agile projects/programmes through the entire Software development Lifecycle
  • Demonstrate resilience during incidents or change and continue delivery
  • Understanding of agile techniques to deliver world leading products.
  • Understand technical architecture to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans
  • Understand technology concepts such as CICD, DevOps, Cloud etc and able to grasp new ones quickly
  • Build positive relationships with supplier partners to deliver software, co-ordinate rollouts or installations, or professional services
