About the role

Accountable for the delivery of Maintenance in Tesco and OneStop stores within a defined geographical area. Managing a team of circa 16 multi skilled technicians including HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Building, Refrigeration and IST's. Working collaboratively with all functions inside Property and our external contractors.

You will be responsible for

  • Attending SD and AM Meetings, working day to day with store retail managers

  • Driving problem solving, identifying key issues, and developing effective solutions.
  • Managing the workload and capacity of my team.
  • Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.
  • Locally managing contractor’s performance on site to ensure first fix.
  • Collaborating with the rest of the business to ensure the solutions are truly co-developed and owned at a local level.
  • Developing, leading, and coaching a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
  • Effectively using the insight developed to shape strategic thinking and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Being a custodian of Health and Safety.
  • Driving the diversity and inclusive agenda throughout my team.
  • Delivering KPI'S and implementing improvement plans when they are not achieved.
  • Escalation management.
  • Ensuring that all legal and compliance standards are met as a minimum and exceeded where possible.
  • Delivering great brand through the team, uniform, vans, and work standards
  • Driving the team through the Maintenance Pathway to business required levels

  • Maintenance delivery of circa 45 Stores
  • Selection, retention, performance, and development of circa 16 Multi Skilled Maintenance Technicians
  • Maximising the internal delivery of maintenance works
  • £1.5 million Budget.
  • All operational costs for team

Experience relevant for this job:

  • Previous Technical and Maintenance Engineering Experience.
  • Experience in a similar scale remote facilities or maintenance business.
  • Demonstrated operational success in people leadership and development.
  • Technical qualification in either HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, refrigeration or Building.
