About the role
Our purpose is to Serve the UK business through an integrated Business Plan to enable the successful delivery of the Strategic Drivers.
We do this by:
- Supporting the creation of our strategy and ambitions (through Drivers and Channels) and turning that strategy into a plan and action
- Creating solid plans we believe in, aligned to budgets. Plans are then tracked and challenged
- Supporting and driving delivery where we can add the most value.
As a team we are required to have a wide range of change management skills, from coordination and Programme Management Office through planning to delivery and change management. All underpinned by strong engagement, influencing and communication skills. The breadth and variety of the roles in Business Planning make it a stretching and motivating environment with lots of opportunity to develop in-role while expanding knowledge and networking throughout the business.
You will be responsible for
- At times, supporting/managing the assigned project or programme including: ensuring scope is clear and understood; tracking progress, actions and milestones; identifying issues, risks or interdependencies
- At times, supporting coordination of a portfolio (Driver or Channels)
- Facilitation of the relevant governance sessions
- Identifying any cross programme dependencies and driving alignment
- Managing risks and issues across a programme or portfolio (for a Driver or Channel)
- Working with the Finance Team to ensure that the business case of a programme and outcome KPIs are defined and clear
- Engaging and aligning stakeholders to the programme/portfolio plan
- Supporting in the development of the specific project/ programme team, building capability and addressing areas of concern
- Ensuring consistency of approach through standard project/ programme management ways of working and helping them to move at pace
- Supporting the Business Plan process by understanding and challenging Driver/Channel plans
- Supporting on any key Business Plan events

- Experience of working in large, complex cross-functional programmes / management of large programmes of work
- Taking complex information and creating a concise narrative for stakeholders
- A broad business manager, able to communicate at senior business leader level
- Presenting confidently to senior business leaders
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a broad group of stakeholders
