You will be responsible for

•You will be responsible for advising on financial reporting issues, year end processes, dealing with external auditors and the production of year end statutory accounts. This requires knowledge of both IFRS and UK GAAP.
•You will assist in financial reporting to the wider Tesco Group, which requires me to work across company boundaries and systems.
•You will assist in controlling the integrity of all balance sheets.
•Work closely with the company directors and cost centre holders to provide advice and support on Head Office accounting issues.
•Be focused on solutions, constantly working to ensure that all statutory submissions are on time, accurate and compliant.
•Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and timely, and that the balance sheet framework is well communicated to the business and Group Best Practice is adhered to.
•You will manage the head office & ATM management accountant, responsible for managing, reporting and forecasting head office costs as well as managing the ATM estate
•Actively engage with senior staff to gain a good understanding of the business.
•You will assist in monitoring and reporting working capital performance to the wider Tesco Group.
•Be involved with Ad-hoc project work to support senior management.
•You will ensure you are up to date with changes to UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting frameworks.

You will need

•Strong technical and analytical skills.

•Knowledge of the external audit process and preparation of statutory financial statements.

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

•Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.

•Ability to work on my own initiative and as part of a team.

•Ability to juggle multiple tasks.

Qualifications

•ACA qualified or equivalent.

•Technical knowledge and training in financial reporting and accounts.

•Knowledge of retailing.
