About the role
As the QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for running and developing integrated tests to support the platform management team. This will involve defining, maintaining and updating test environments, as well as working with the teams to implement automation of these using IaC and working as a squad to automate tasks across the infrastructure landscape using familiar and new tooling. Tesco Mobile has a QA and Development teams responsible for Integration/UAT testing.
You will be responsible for

- Work with the Chapter Lead to agree improvements to integration testing and the Platform Automation Engineer to automate the setup and tear-down of test environments as needed
- Define and refine integration test strategy
- Act as the domain expert for QA Automation
- Build integration tests for newly developed solutions
- Work as part of the team to solve sophisticated cross-business technical problems
- Work together with the Development and QA teams to increase test coverage
- Share knowledge with other members of the squad
You will need
- ISEB/ITSQB Foundation/Agile foundation
- ISTQB Test Manager
- Experience in software quality assurance and testing, including test planning, test execution, efficient time management, and defect management
- Significant commercial experience automating integration testing using industry-recognised tools
- Preferable skills to include API integration testing, Postman scripting, XRAY Jira test management, Telecommunications principals, DevOps principals, eCommerce principals, Salesforce, Confluence, Jira
- Experience load testing and performance testing
- Ability to assess test coverage and identify gaps to address
- Experience handling data security in testing (anonymisation, pseudonymisation)
- Experience with cloud providers AWS and Azure
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Automation experience using a variety of tools and languages including AWS CLI, python, etc
- SQL experience
- Willingness to learn new skills
Nice to have:
- Experience maintaining and updating infrastructure using IaC tooling
- Source code systems and branching strategies; Github and Github Actions
- Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment techniques, approaches and tools, including experience with the GitHub and GitHub Actions
