About the role

  • Be agile in your approach collaborating cross functionally to ensure that the Long Term Plan reflects business priorities ensuring that we always serve customers, communities and the planet a little better everyday.
  • Take ownership of the projects, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and the service delivery model.
  • Ensure the delivery of objectives and functional priorities, manage dependencies and deliver measurable improvements in line with Save to Invest targets supporting to make our stores safer and reduce loss.
  • Achieve great results by inspiring, engaging and leading others; you make customer and colleagues feel valued.
  • Deliver workload through ruthless prioritisation of time and resources.
  • Owning the delivery of process and systems, making sure they’re effective and efficient; you spot issues and swiftly find the best solutions.
  • Understand how technology is key to our future and make sure digital is a part of key business

You will be responsible for

  • Following our business code of conduct and always acting with integrity/due diligence.
  • Being flexible in your approach, prioritising and managing various projects of work across different areas within Business Support, improving different parts of the shopping trip for customers or simplifying our operations with new initiatives.
  • Being responsible for designing, setting up end to end organisation of projects, consistently reviewing progress and ensuring they remain on track and in scope. Communicated and delivered through clear implementation.
  • Ensuring all budgets and forecasts are accurate and issues highlighted in a timely manner.
  • Always follow good quality change management processes to ensure longevity and sustainability of the project being delivered.
  • Managing risk and issues, setting up and leading a clear governance programme.
  • Taking ownership of processes and systems, making sure they are effective and efficient; you spot issues and swiftly find the best simplest solutions.
  • Knowing your stuff, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm, the way you manage makes Tesco a great place to work and shop.
  • Gaining prioritisation from dependant teams and being agile to manage the implementation of various projects and programmes of work that simplify our operation.
  • Standing over project closedown and post implementation review, taking note of key learnings and sharing these with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement on both the what and the how delivering save to invest commitments.
  • Completing a clear handover from transformation to BAU once projects are complete.
