About the role

Accountable for the delivery of Maintenance on refrigeration systems in Tesco stores / sites within a defined geographical region . Managing a team of circa 16 cross skilled Refrigeration Technicians. Working collaboratively with all functions inside Property and our external contractors.

You will be responsible for

• Managing the workload and capacity of my team.
• Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.
• Locally managing contractor’s performance on site to ensure first fix.
• Collaborating with the rest of the business to ensure the solutions are truly co-developed and owned at a local level.
• Developing and leading and coaching a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
• Effectively using the insight developed to shape strategic thinking and identifying potential opportunities.
• Being a custodian of Health and Safety.
• Driving the diversity and inclusive agenda throughout my team.
• Delivering KPI'S and implementing improvement plans when they are not achieved.
• Escalation management.
• Ensuring that all legal and compliance standards are met as a minimum and exceeded where possible.
• Ensuring refrigeration service contracts in your defined region are delivering alongside TR
• Actively support capital, engineering, and development refrigeration strategies.
• Driving the team through the Maintenance Pathway to business required levels

People and budgets you will be accountable for:

• Maintenance delivery for refrigeration in defined region
• Selection, retention, and development of circa 16 refrigeration Technicians
• Circa 1 Million Budget
• Parts, Vans and Hire control
• Up / cross skilling of team
• Reduction in FGas usage (system integrity driven)

You will need

Operational Skills:

• Communication and stakeholder management
• Lead a diverse and remote team
• Building internal and external networks
• Analysis of data to achieve timely decisions
• Financial competency
• Computer literacy – EAM, Office 365
• Change management
• Problem solving and root cause analysis

Relevant Experience:

• Previous Technical and maintenance engineering experience.
• Experience in a similar scale remote facilities or maintenance business.
• Demonstrated operational success in people leadership and development.
• Technical qualification in HVAC / Refrigeration systems maintenance
• Refrigeration / HVAC / Gas service industry knowledge
