Supporting the business to define how our colleagues work with each other and with our partners, ensuring processes across Buy and Manage are simple, standard, and effective; we are accountable for the creation of world leading technology Products which embed this best practice.

You will be responsible for

  • Measuring the value delivered by MyProduct: Quality and define the outcomes and measures to be delivered
  • Assessing new product opportunities (capture ideas, research, analyse, refine and prioritise new requirements)
  • Running/implementing user testing and experiments against the defined hypotheses to help in capturing enough data to drive key decisions
  • Formulating and present the future plans/roadmap for myProduct area
  • Building and maintaining a "well refined" product backlog including features, bug-fixes and technical debt, and stack rank those in terms of the business priorities
  • Documenting and explaining new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas and acceptance test criteria
  • Managing the backlog and steer sprint/ release planning sessions by working closely with your engineering counterparts to plan sprints and releases that deliver maximum business value in the least effort
  • Working closely with UX, Design and Engineering to deliver a solution to match user and business needs
  • Prioritising and complete the development of requirements/features by working with various functional teams like Design, Development/Engineering, Test, Programme Management, etc.
  • Handling and communicate product issues and plan and self-organise your work in line with the team plan and priorities
  • Ensuring all team members have a common/ shared understanding of the work being done and the value that is encouraged from of the outcome. This job would suit a teammate who enjoys and is passionate about working collaboratively with other members of the product team and wider partners.

You will need

  • Having a positive, can-do attitude and contributing to an hard working and motivated team environment.
  • Have an interest and passion for Tesco and for the product management role
  • Possess a theoretical knowledge of Product management
  • Understanding of a typical Software Development Lifecycle and how software products are built
