About the role

As an Agile Coach you'll sit within the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Strategy and Agile. 

We are a team of five Agile Coaches. Our Technical Product Owner Chapter and Product Tribe Product Owner Chapter also sit in this Centre of Excellence.

As one of five Agile Coaches at Tesco Mobile, you are responsible to help train our squads (teams) and tribes
on the Agile methodology and oversee the development of Agile teams to ensure successful adoption of Agile at Tesco Mobile and the delivery of our OKRs. 
You are responsible for guiding teams through the implementation process and will need to encourage colleagues to embrace the Agile method. 
Your ultimate goal is to arm our Agile teams with the right knowledge, tools and training so that they’ll be able to use Agile to its full potential.

You will be responsible for

Our five Agile Coaches are responsible for a specific area of the organisation, however you will need to support other coaches areas as and when the business requires. 

As Tesco Mobile is in transition to becoming an Agile company, your key responsibilities will be to support the Product Owners, Tribe Leads and Squad Members in the Product Tribe, to learn, practice and start adopting the Agile principles and practices.

You will need

Skills and Experience

  • Confident to bring Agile practices, principles and values to the organisation:  predominately at squad and tribe level. 
  • 2-3 years experience working with teams (using any kind of Agile practices).
  • Understands the clear difference between Product Owners, Chapter Lead and Squad Member roles. Having been in any of these roles is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is able to invite non-aggressive discipline in following the prescriptive Agile ceremonies.
  • Is capable of navigating conflicts at the team level using some of the well-known frameworks in the Agile community (NVC, Clean Language, Difficult Conversations, etc).
  • Understands and can facilitate team's growth in maturity using any of the well-known frameworks in the Agile community (5 Dysfunctions of a team , Integral Theory, Tuckman's Stages, etc).
  • Has any sort of personal development practice embedded in their life (Emotional Intelligence, MIndfulness, Coaching etc)
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience in some of the well-known Agile frameworks at the squad and team level (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc).
  • Is familiar and has some experience with some innovation frameworks (Design Thinking, Lean Start-Up, Design Sprint, etc)
  • Has completed any kind of training or certification in Teams Coaching or Facilitation.
