About the role

We’re looking to recruit a customer focused category planning assistant to work in our Meat, Fish and Poultry team. Your primary role will be to shape our trade plan, both all year round and for seasonal events, working with buying and insights teams to ensure customers get great value every day.

The hiring manager for this role is Harry Gillespie.

You will be responsible for

  • Responsible for the daily management of the Promotional/Event Critical Path, collate all promotional nominations.
  • Tracking all promotion sales and circulating performance data to the team 
  • Visiting stores to ensure promotional feature space compliance and then raising any challenges across all channels.
  • Keeping up to date with market promotional activity and activation by regularly visiting Tesco and competition
  • Manage the promotion count, adherence to principles and efficiency of promotions 
  • Support delivery of space, range and price/promotional strategy to be executed by the relevant teams 
  • Support execution of a clear multi channel and cross format sell plan that will achieve category objectives
  • Manage image coverage online and over-seeing product data quality
  • Price basket tracking of position, ensuring we are up to date on our price perception in the market
  • Collaborate with the dunnhumby, online and shopper marketing to ensure all key initiatives are activated clearly 
  • Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all my training so that I have zero GSCOP breaches. Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence
  • Ensuring all supplier agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within my team
