About the role

As Senior Manager for Online Operations Development, you will lead the review and transformation of key processes underpinning our UK & ROI Online business; this will help unlock sales, profit and CX improvements

You will be responsible for

  • Tracking project milestones and deliverables, identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies, in line with Project Management principles and using the appropriate tools and templates
  • Working in close partnership with Senior Managers across Online Operations, Online Trading and Business Performance to identify significant opportunities to step-change the performance of our Online Grocery and Non-Food business for Tesco and our customers
  • Line management and development of direct reports
  • Progressing step-change of operations without disrupting the successful running of BAU Online Grocery and Non-Food operations
  • Identifying and analyzing key datasets (Online metrics, sales data, fulfillment data & customer feedback) to identify risks and opportunities and ownership of change road maps (including dependencies) to implement changes
  • Partnering/influencing transformation and optimization colleagues across Commercial, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Online Product, Technology to drive step-change opportunities to operational processes (e.g, product data and imagery; discoverability, search, substitutions, availability)
  • Leveraging insight - from customers, internal expert stakeholders and supplier partners - and conducting analysis to identify priority improvement projects which materially improve sales, profit or customer experience (e.g, availability)
  • Supporting the Online Trading team by providing ideas & opportunities to innovate and develop current capabilities, including process improvement and automation opportunities

You will need

  • Background in Online retail operations
  • Project Management / PMO experience in an ecommerce business
  • Experience writing presentations for varying audiences and seniority levels
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and taking ownership of cross-functional work streams
  • Experience of process improvement based on data-driven approach
  • Line management of junior colleague(s) (3 direct reports)
  • Root cause analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Business case sizing
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to unpick complex systems and processes and identify key performance levers
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Data literate (SQL & Excel proficiency desirable)
