About the role

As part of our Stores Graduate programme you will work in one of our 151 stores across the Republic of Ireland. It’s no surprise that our stores are the first thing people think of when it comes to Tesco.

Our colleagues in store all share something in common: they want to serve our customers, communities and the planet a little better every day. From a diverse range of great products, to brilliant customer service – we put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and our stores are at the forefront of this.

You’ll get to experience the diversity that our different stores, roles and departments offer and work your way up to become part of the Senior Management Team in store. You’ll do everything from leading and inspiring your colleagues in store, managing promotions and products and becoming a role model for great customer service.

You’ll also be collaborating with colleagues on a head office project and interacting with our distribution teams, to broaden your knowledge of our business.

Your experience with us

Induction – We’ll kick off with an induction, where you’ll learn more about our business and your programme. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet your fellow graduates. You’ll then be introduced to your team, so you can get to know more about your role or project and the area you’ll be working in.

Programme structure – You’ll gain a breadth of business experience and skills as you complete planned experiences and placements that will really give you an insight into how our business operates at store level and allow you to grow your skills.

Where next? – This breadth of experience will help you think about your future at Tesco, beyond your programme. As you finish your programme, you should be well-equipped to excel in a role that plays to your unique strengths and interests.

You will be responsible for

You’ll quickly take on responsibility, so you can gain a deep knowledge of your role through hands-on experience. You’ll develop the skills to become a Manager within your first year and progress to a placement in a senior role, leading a group of colleagues in store.

You’ll also have access to a wide variety of workshops and resources, online or at our on-site training academy with our other graduates. And don’t worry, you’ll be supported throughout your graduate programme by your manager and your buddy – they were in your shoes not so long ago!

You will need

We’re looking for graduates with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude, not forgetting a passion for retail. You’ll love a challenge and be able to think on your feet. You’ll also be able to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues. The real success in this role will come from working as part of a team and being great with people.

All that we ask is that you already have or are on track for a 2:2 degree in any subject.

We need people who share our ambition to deliver for our customers; passionate and confident people willing to take the initiative and drive us forwards. In return we offer excitement, a great team, an excellent benefit package and significant career development opportunities.
