You will be responsible for
- Counseling on civil litigation and pre-litigation contentious matters across our diverse business.
- Working with our Group Safety and Group Quality teams to advise on regulatory investigations and material local authority enforcement actions.
- Working as a team with the other Group litigators on larger, more complex disputes.
- Acting as a litigation contact for our Customer Engagement Centres and for handling the resolution of smaller claims.
- Providing support to the wider Legal team on an ad hoc basis.

- Considering partners concerns and spotting other issues: working with the business (not just for them) and adding value.
- Delivering litigation-related training across the business.
You will need
We are looking for a qualified litigation lawyer, who possesses a wide variety of civil litigation experience. Some experience of environmental health/health & safety enforcement actions would be helpful, but not essential as training will be provided in role.
You will need to be a pro-active self-starter who is willing to learn and able to work autonomously. Prior experience of being efficient in a fast paced environment is needed, as there is a large and varied workload, often under significant time pressure.
In addition to this, we work in a collaborative environment of constructive challenge and open debate, so your style should be robust and effective.
