About the role
Leading the team accountable for the Group consolidation process, delivering timely and accurate periodic Group reporting, and for the Group external statutory reporting, including HY interims and year-end financial statements.
You will be responsible for
- Deliver the Group consolidation process on a periodic basis, maintaining a strong control environment in compiling financial information from across the Group
- Oversee HFM improvement activities relating to external reporting, including liaising with relevant teams across the Group
- Work closely with the Group Head of Management reporting and the Head of Group planning to ensure a cohesive process through to Exec reporting
- Produce external financial reporting for the Group, including the Annual Report and Financial Statements and interim and preliminary statements
- Ensure complex and significant accounting transactions are appropriately accounted for and reported at a Group level
- Contribute to Audit Committee papers on key accounting judgements
- Support the Investor Relations team to answer questions from investors
- Building and maintaining relationships with our external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process
- Coaching, developing and leading a high performing team of qualified and part-qualified accountants
You will need
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with excellent academics and relevant post qualified experience
- Strong background in IFRS knowledge and application
- Finance experience in a large, multi-function corporate business
- Commercial awareness and business acumen
