About the role

This Planning manager role supports the Head of UK Business Plan to build and manage the UK Annual Plan.

You will provide support for all initiatives throughout the step change process, including planning and facilitating Governance.  Working cross functionally with business planning teams, as well as programme managers to ensure the plan is up to date and on track, working in an effective and collaborative way.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with and support our Exec members, Business leaders and Business managers across all areas of Tesco UK inc:

  • Finance
  • Customer

  • Channels

You will be responsible for

Development of the Annual Plan including engaging the business leaders to submit their plans for the year ahead in line with our strategy, that meets our ambitions
Managing the in year project submission process and alignment to the annual business plan

Aligning projects across the business into a structured forum for key business leaders and directors to deliver the Business Plan

Supporting project teams and programme owners across the business, coaching them through the process, sharing our knowledge and ensuring they participate at the right level within the process

Producing high quality, accurate, informative reporting and communication on programme status - inside and outside of the business plan function specifically for the periodic finance review sessions 

Continuous improvement of the process and championing the process for Step change activity
