About the role
Are you passionate about new technologies, new ideas and new ways of thinking?
We are recruiting a Process Optimisation and Analytics Manager who will improve our business profitability and create a better experience for our customers and colleagues. Working on multiple projects, you will be responsible for building mathematical modelling using big data architecture and running complex analytics to reduce our operating costs and improve the utilisation of Tesco assets.
You will be responsible for
• Building and managing a team of analysts. Defining objectives for the direct reports and prioritising team’s workload making sure deliverables are aligned to business needs
• Developing close working relationship with stakeholders, effectively listening and understanding their needs and applying persuasive skills to influence and inspire others
• Working with technology and data teams to develop the overall strategic vision of a single accessible and trusted data platform. Maintaining and monitoring data quality and scoping business requirements for any data transformation
• Building self-analytics capability on top of big data architectures using latest technology to eliminate needs for manual data retrieval and manipulation
• Developing new visualization techniques to simplify trend analysis for people, systems and business performance
• Building mathematical models with automated data feeds to optimize current process flow and increase capacity and capability of current assets
• Working with Data Scientist team to build prototype solutions and simulations to resolve difficult business problems or highlight improvement/cost reduction opportunities
• Working with Engineering, supply chain, data analytics and technology teams to develop the overall strategic vision of future material handling solutions from manual to fully automated concepts which meets business long term plans.
• If required provide insight to leadership team to drive strategic decision
You will need
• Fulfilment, distribution and retail experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Understanding of material handling technology, including PLC and WMS software (preferred but not mandatory)
• Understanding of labour standards, industrial engineering or work study experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• University degree in a quantitative discipline or relevant experience
• Minimum A in Mathematics (or related subject at A Level)
• Manipulating, analysing and blending data using different sources (Alteryx, Teradata and Hadoop).
• Coding in different programming languages and a good grasp of at least one language Python, Java, Scala, R (or similar)
