About the role

The role of the Assistant Merchandiser in Store Stock Planning, is to manage the distribution of stock from depot to store, ensuring the ideal levels of stock to maximise sales and full price sell through, whilst coordinating with sales and stock plans from the Commercial teams.

You will be responsible for

  •  Oversee and support the Allocation of New Lines in to store
  • Distribute the day to day Replenishment of full price stock in line with the agreed stock plan
  • You will be a key contact for Stock Planning and will effectively communicate with Internal teams and with colleagues across different work levels.
  • Be aware of the exit plan of product and manage / distribute the remaining stock effectively
  • Analyse the performance of products, providing accurate information and taking appropriate action
  • Manage and trade the stock of Event and Promotions throughout the season
  • Allocate to New Store Openings and Refits, monitoring the package to ensure successful launch
  • You will be responsible for analysing groups of stores and how they trade stock, sharing this knowledge to the wider team for commercial decisions
  • Maintain successful meetings with Merchandising by promoting distribution strategies, identifying priorities for the business.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports that will support trading decisions for the Stock Planning Team

Commercial/Trend Knowledge

  • Visit stores to gain a better understanding of the impact of allocations/replenishment and store stock profiles
  • Be commercial and aware of the changing role of retail on the High St and in the competition
  • Be confident in making commercial decisions that will impact the way we trade stock

Team management and development

  • Demonstrate behavioural skills required of every member of the team
  • Asks for support & direction to develop skill base
  • Contribute to the development of Allocators, helping to create succession within the team.
  • Review and monitor the department Operating Plan to ensure that all objectives are met throughout the year
