About the role

Manage the planning and execution of owned on-site content and customer journey through search and browse to make shopping on Tesco.com more compelling for customers and deliver profitable sales growth. This role carries ownership of core day-to-day trading activities, driving performance of key seasonal events and Tesco Online propositions and leading the ongoing development of trading capability. This is done through managing a team of >10 multi-specialist Colleagues and building & owning collaborative relationships with multiple cross-functional teams (e.g., Customer Growth, Media & Partner Engagement, Commercial - Trading, Customer, Technology).

You will be responsible for

- Managing the trading performance of Tesco Online, including understanding and improving the overall user experience (e.g., search, browse, trade and inspirational content, trading tools) and driving continuous improvement of trade, seasonal activities, and campaign execution.
- Managing the relationship with senior stakeholders in the Customer team to ensure that Online recommendations & requirements are considered at an early stage to enable Online to effectively manage key campaigns in a timely manner.
- Managing the effective planning and execution of trade and inspirational content, working closely with the media team and DunnHumby to monetise content where possible, whilst continuing to deliver a seamless customer experience. 
- Working cross-functionally with teams to ensure quality and timely publishing of high quality content to support trade and brand strategies.
- Developing and managing collaborative relationships with digital product and technology teams to drive capability improvements for trade and content delivery. Manage the planning and delivery of a continuous range of A/B tests to feed into future content plans and strategies, as well as continuous improvement.
- Managing the planning and optimisation of content space on Tesco.com, using data to build insight and recommendations in order to trade owned space as effectively as possible. 
- Managing the planning and execution of content changes on the Tesco proposition sites (e.g., Clubcard, Delivery Saver, F&F), building and developing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the Online Trading team is part of any future strategic plans which will impact content and customer journey.
- Continuing to manage the relationship with ROI, ensuring that the business gets a greater level of focus by encouraging engagement across the full Online Trading team and streamlining processes where possible by aligning with UK ways of working.
- Developing and leading a high performing team of specialists, giving them the opportunities to be their best.

You will need

- Technical understanding of different Online trading tools gained in an online trading and/or marketing environment (including knowledge of web merchandising, consumer psychology, etc.)
- Understanding of SEO strategies and ability to balance customer experience with improving search results ranking.
- Analytical and pragmatic mindset: strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritise and articulate highest impact initiatives.
- A/B and MVT hypothesis creation and testing execution.
- Stakeholder engagement and management.
- Project management experience. 
- Flexibility, ability to plan and organise, responsive and agile, creative thinking.

- 3+ years experience in Online retail environment, including leading execution of weekly / seasonal trade activity in senior retail / FMCG role
- Strong ability to understand and act upon key commercial & customer performance metrics.
- Ability to generate a range of recommendations from data analysis, interpret information from multiple sources and spot opportunities and issues quickly and come up with a range of workable solutions.
- Strong leadership / development of multi-specialist team to deliver day to day execution whilst also driving a portfolio of optimisation / development projects.
- Adept at running A/B testing and using data to develop strategic drivers of change with technology teams.
- Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, flexed around the audience and making complex information easily digestible.
