About the role

You will be responsible for running the end to end project steam relating to material handling and automation solutions to solve our business challenges. These include safety, product accuracy /quality, future growth capacity and the reduction in operating costs across our distribution and customer fulfilment network. 

As part of the wider Transformation programme, you will work on multiple projects and engage various stakeholders to improve business profitability and create a better experience for our customers and colleagues.

You will be responsible for

  • Independently manage your own complex projects end-to-end, from inception through to delivery and review
  • Analyse complex problems, identify solutions and build business cases
  • Developing close working relationship with stakeholders, effectively listening and understanding their needs and applying persuasive skills to influence and inspire others
  • Working with engineering, supply chain, analytics and technology teams to develop the overall strategic vision of future material handling solutions from manual to fully automated concepts which meets business long term plans. 
  • Staying abreast of current / future operating strategies and technologies by attending industry conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Collecting data and informations that accurately represents business requirements by engaging end to end business functions from commercial/suppliers to retail store teams. 
  • Accurately, clearly and concisely displaying design requirements.
  • Track project deliverables, and identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies 
  • Have a deep understanding of the business, financials and wider market to be able to translate strategy into action
  • Land projects on the front-line through engaging with colleagues across the business
  • Lead the strategic thinking for your projects and related areas

You will need

  • Fulfilment, distribution and retail supply chain experience (preferred but not mandatory)
  • University degree of 2:1 or higher in a quantitative discipline or relevant experience
  • Minimum A in Mathematics (or related subject at A Level)
  • Experience in manipulating, analysing and blending data 
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment in either industry or consulting
  • Project Management experience or qualification

You will need to be passionate about new technologies, new ideas and new ways of thinking in which to build new capabilities. With an Analytical mind set and the ability to use your academical knowledge and work experience to tackle specific business problems. 

You will also have ;

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
